Forum Marketing for Writers

Friday, August 25th, 2006

Here’s a few important things I’ve learned (through sometimes painful trial and error):

You have services, people need your services.  That’s a simple fact of life.  The tricky thing is finding out who needs you.  You might be tempted to just post a one off announcement and hope that you get work that way.  Problem is, if you post it in an approriate spam/announcement forum it may not get seen much.

How NOT to conduct business on a forum - Featuring Cheap-Adult-Traffic.info

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

Well, it’s a given that many people’s forum etiquette is well….lacking. That’s a mild word, but it’s adequate for now. If you are attached to your name or represent your company, you will always have your forum past to haunt you. Like it or not, if you’re an annoying little bastard people are going to remember it. Adult Copywriting Tutorial Series

Sunday, August 13th, 2006

I’ve been a bit negligent in keeping my own site up to date and content rich. That’s both good and bad - good because I have a roster of great clients that I am working with. Bad because it looks like I don’t practice what I preach.

I’m going to go ahead and fix that with a weekly feature on different types of adult copywriting. I’ll start it up on Monday and continue it for as long as I can. The posting schedule will vary according to workload, however.

This won’t be some faintly masked advertisement for my services - it will be practical information that you can put to use. Obviously I’d love to work with you directly, but some projects I cannot take on for one reason or another. I also understand that some people are very ‘do it yourselfers’. This will give you a solid foundation on getting started.

I’m going to avoid the really basic ‘how to write’ stuff - I assume that if you’re running your own sites that you have a good idea of basic communication. This will focus on more advanced topics, mainly focusing on correctly using text to market and sell your services/sites/products/etc.

Here’s a quick list of topics I’ll be covering. Let me know if you have any suggestions!
