Experiences with Windows Live Writer

Well it’s been two days now.  While I’ve been rather involved in a project for Batts, I have had a chance to mess around with it some.  Here’s a few observations, caveats, and just general rambling.  For the sake of comparison, I’ll also be using a few other remote blogging utilities that were pointed out to me (w.blogger, the firefox one, etc) to see how they all compare.

There’s been a random error when using bulleted/numbered list.  I am also unable to post to one of my blogs (going to reenter in the information and see if that fixed it).

The picture alignment is done via aligns and not floats, so I’ve had a few issues with the way the layout looks as opposed to how it actually appears on the blog.

I also don’t like how I can’t close only the current post window after I publish it.  Whenever I hit create a new post or new, it just opens another Live Writer window.  TABBED BROWSING, HAVE YOU HEARD OF IT MICROSOFT???

Overall, my experience has been extremely satisfactory with the software.  I wish I could post to the blog section of my drupal sites, but I understand how it would probably be just a smidge too hard to work that in to a general blog posting software.

You can get it here for free.  It’s beta software though, so as always be on the look out for bugs, glitches, and general weirdness.
